Mellencamp, Crow to tour New Zealand

Grammy  award winners John Mellencamp and Sheryl Crow are coming to New Zealand.

The singer-songwriters will perform at Auckland's Vector Arena on December 3, Alana Estate Winery in Martinborough on December 6, and at Mudhouse Winery in Canterbury on December 7.

It's the first time in 15 years that American rocker Mellencamp, who has sold more than 40 million albums and earned 15 Grammy nominations, has gone on tour.

He was booked to perform with Elvis Costello at this year's Mission Estate Winery concert but cancelled because it clashed with his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Mellancamp and Crow will be joined in the concerts by 21-year-old New Zealander Gin Wigmore, who has just released her debut CD after becoming the first Kiwi to sign with Island Records Australia.

Tickets to the concerts go on sale on July 7.
